VAR: Red card withdrawn from Uganda Airlines, 18 match suspension lifted

Opinions

Uganda Airlines was initially bought in 1976 during Idi Amin Dada’s reign as Manager, but in 2001 the NRM government under President Museveni claimed it fouled government from the centre over a $6m debt.

The NRM captain, Museveni said on top of the foul, this specific player was running in the opposite direction, hence he urged the referee together with his team mates to red card player shirt number two- Uganda Airlines.

The player was consequently banned several games for fouling government while even running the opposite direction. Without viewing VAR, the ref red carded Airline and FUFA (Federation of Uganda Fallen Airlines) banned him for 18 games.

Museveni in a post match conference, said the player was useless. Besides having no shot on target, he had no tackles won, no air duels won, not even any passes made on top of making a very reckless foul.

Museveni like Mourinho, later asked his team to sign the player saying he now possesses serious qualities to enable them qualify for the Champions League 2040.

“I was among those who buried the old airline and I am among the midwives delivering the new baby. This new baby will never die,” Museveni remarked while introducing the player to the crowds. yeeeeee they clapped.

Museveni also asked that the player’s match suspension be lifted for the general good, arguing that now there is serious need proven beyond reasonable doubt that the player has changed ways.

Museveni said there are many Ugandans in the diaspora who always want to return to the country but use airlines from other countries.

We have been forced to do a VAR on the events and can confirm that the red card is withdrawn and the suspension to the player lifted.

The NRM team has spent a lot of money to buy this player without acquiring a loan, which is good for the financial fair play rules which sometimes involve managers to borrow from China unfortunately.

The player meanwhile has previous cases, for instance in July 2014, it was found that his certification process was irregular in an industry that was low on surveillance and less compliant to international requirements.

The player was also accused of fouling his own team mates and putting their lives in jeopardy, specifically he would go in the air to head the ball only to crash land on fellow players.  The VAR takes note and is giving it a benefit of doubt that there wont be a recurrence of events since the player is in the new league.

The VAR also captured the player getting involved in betting which is corruption on one end. A certain manager single-handedly bet on the airline to score an own goal with odd 99.9% and award his team points and money, this is a huge betting share. We ask that the team first sort out this matter and future betting issues before the player can be allowed on pitch.

The VAR is looking out for recruitment through nepotism, favouritism in awarding tenders which this NRM team has been accused of so many times. Should this player also have come under such circumstances, the entire team and its coach will be banned.

On the good side, the team says they are expecting 4 million new supporters (Tourists) by 2020 who would want to watch the player and buy his shirt and tickets to their home stadium.

Meanwhile the team has asked that every player including those on the bench, buy tickets to watch the player in training to support him. We acknowledge this great gesture of team work and for that matter suspend the ban.

For the good of this game and for purposes of giving second chances, VAR has withdrawn the red card on Airline and FUFA listed the suspension on matches. He is free to play when most available, in case he is passed fit.
