The Rujumba family in Hoima has offered the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) 20 acres of land at Mparo along Hoima- Masindi road to construct a stadium.

The said land is part of 150 acres registered in their grandfather's name, the late Dr. James Rujumba.

According to the family, Rujumba gazetted 20 acres for a public project that the family would find prudent in remembrance of his name.

The first Vice President of FUFA Justus Mugisha who is at the same times the head of projects at the football body inspected the site  last evening.

He welcomed the idea and thanked both the family for the offer.

"We shall support the construction of the stadium from the funds we get from Federation of international Football (FIFA) so that it will be used to host other international matches upcountry," Mugisha remarked.

He however cautioned them against divisionism saying it had led to the failure of growth of football and other sports disciplines upcountry.

"Avoid beefing, it takes you no where but rather be united for a common cause and lift the game of sport high."

Mugisha  said that as FUFA they have so far received land from Namirembe church in Rubaga division in Kampala, the Kabaka of Buganda offered them 10 acres of land in Lugazi and now 20 acres in Hoima Municipality from the Rujumba family.

The Hoima land will be used for construction of the main stadium and another pitch for training purposes.
