A suspect arrested in connection with the kidnap of Dr. Catherine Agaba, a medical doctor at International Hospital Kampala, has confessed to killing her.

Dr Agaba disappeared on April 13, 2019 after taking her annual leave from her workstation and police in Kabalagala last week arrested two people including a Ugandan doctor based in the US over the crime.

The Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango told the Nile Post that one of the suspects confessed to investigators that he had killed the doctor before dumping her body in a septic tank.

“During interrogation, one of the suspects arrested from Apac told investigators that he had killed her and the body had been dumped into a septic tank in a house in Muyenga,”Onyango said.

“Our scene of crime officers have gone to Muyenga to reconstruct the scene to find out if the body is there.”

On Friday, the management of International Hospital Kampala said they last had contact with the missing doctor on April 9 when she applied for her annual leave.

“Our last contact with her was on Tuesday April 9 when she applied for annual leave. We appeal to anyone who has any useful information regarding her disappearance or whereabouts to report to the IHK Human Resource Office or nearest police station. We continue to stand with and pray for her and her family during this trying moment,” the IHK statement reads in part.

Several posts have been put on social media by the family asking the public to help them with information in regards her whereabouts.

The Mbarara University of Science and Technology graduate first  practiced at Nsambya Hospital from October 2016 to October 2017, before moving to IHK.
