Police has blocked Kyarenga extra show by local musician Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine.

The show was slated for Easter Monday at Busaabala.

However,in a communication dated April, 19, 2019 by the Police director in charge of operations, AIGP Asuman Mugyenyi, informs the organizers that because management has failed to meet security guidelines at previous concerts, the upcoming concert is subsequently blocked.

"This is to inform you that despite the elaborate and clear guidelines well stipulated in our correspondence and the previous meetings we had regarding the preparations, the manner, conduct, characteristics and security demands from your side, previous concerts have fallen short of agreed positions," Mugenyi said.

"On that background, Uganda Police therefore will not be able to secure your planned concerts and will not risk them to be carried out in any unsecure environments."

Mugenyi in the letter to music promoter Abbey Musinguzi of Abtex promotions asks for the concerts to either be suspended or stopped until further notice.

Police says they concerts can only continue when "robust" public security mechanisms are put in place to secure revelers and other people who might be affected.

"Respective territorial police commanders are by copy of this letter informed accordingly to make sure there is compliance."
