Nantaba's bodyguard accused of assault

Even before she weathers the storm over the controversial killing of Ronald Ssebulime,  Aidah Nantaba, the minister of state for ICT has been dragged into another scandal.

Two boda boda cyclists, Geoffrey Mubiru a resident of Kiswa and Alex Yiga a resident of Nazigo, in Kayunga district have accused one of the minister’s bodyguard, a one Tugume, of hitting them with a bayonet after they allegedly parked next to her car.

In the process, they claim they sustained injuries on the stomach and on the head.

The two cyclists told The Nile Post that they have tried several times to meet the minister but have been blocked.

They also claim that their efforts to petition the speaker have been thwarted by some people.

While in Kayunga town last year, the two allegedly parked their motorcycles near the minister's car.

Tugume, the bodyguard forcefully told them to park elsewhere. As they were still looking for where to park, they claim he confronted them with a bayonet, injuring them severally.

They reported the case at Kayunga police station but they claimed the minister forced them to withdraw the cases, promising to compensate them.

Effort to talk to Nantaba were in futile after she failed to pick our calls.
