Government contemplates flying Kadaga to Spain

The government is in contemplation to transfer ailing Parliament Speaker, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga from Agha Khan hospital in Nairobi, to Spain in Europe.

Nile Post has exclusively learnt that a communication was sent through government ranks to the Ministry of Finance to set aside money to enable Kadaga’s facilitation and treatment in Spain.

The amount of money not yet disclosed, has already been earmarked. A source in the ministry claims that the memo asking for finances was issued yesterday with instructions to ‘urgently handle’.

The source claims that Kadaga has grave effects to her spinal cord and could most likely require a transplant.

Nile Post got in contact with another source close to the speaker, who preferred anonymity but said; “There is a strong possibility although, we are still waiting.”

On contacting the State Minister for Finance, David Bahati, he made his phones busy.

Kadaga was airlifted to Nairobi on March 23, to seek another professional opinion after her condition appeared complex for Nakasero Hospital where she had been admitted prior allegedly because of ‘fatigue’.

Kadaga’s Principal Private Secretary, Sam Obbo in a statement earlier had indicated that Kadaga was only affected by fatigue after her return from a10-day hectic working tour to Morocco and the United States of America.
