The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has summoned the State Minister for Information and Technology Aidah Nantaba to explain the circumstances surrounding her alleged attack on Sunday.

Oulanyah said the summon was as a result of legislators condemning government’s delay in presenting an official statement on the floor of Parliament concerning the alleged attack on the minister.

On Sunday Nantaba while returning to Kampala from Ndeeba village in Kayunga became suspicious of men who were reportedly trailing her on the motorbike.

She sought the intervention of Naggalama Police station which immediately swung into action and shot a one Ronald Ssebulime, the biker, to death.

According to eye witnesses Ssebulime was not armed, nor did he resist arrest.

This has generated a public debate with people questioning the source of orders that led to the shooting of the suspect that had already been handcuffed.

The fire spitting legislators led by Kasilo County MP Elijah Okupa and opposition whip Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda wondered why government had taken MPs and country for granted over the attack.

This forced Oulanyah, to summon Nantaba to give her version of the story.

Ssebulime was laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Mubende district.
