Injury prone utility player Julius Poloto will be a notable absentee when his KCCA FC side travels to Jinja for their 24th game of the season.
The youngster’s promising career is continuously being threatened by injury that has seen him play fewer games for the Kasasiro boys than many believe he would this season.
His coach Mike Mutebi is concerned about the player’s health but does not believe the absence of the twenty-year-old will affect their performance at the mighty Arena in Jinja.
While speaking to the press in their pre match press conference before the trip to the eastern city yesterday, Mutebi was clear as ever, “We have enough weapons in our armory to frustrate any side.” he said.
Mutebi is boosted by the return of five key players from national team duty. Forward Allan Kyambadde, creative midfielder Allan Okello, the experienced Sadam Juma, club top scorer Patrick Kaddu and team captain Timothy Awany both returned to training.
The tactician however said, only Okello and the captain might have a chance on today’s game after assessing their fitness.
“It is good that all our players are back with no injuries but only Allan Okello and Timothy Awany are likely to be considered tomorrow (Wednesday). The others have not been in good form,” Mutebi said.
Kirinya Jinja SS meanwhile also trained on Tuesday ahead of one of their toughest encounters.
Despite not having any major injury concerns, they will be without their experienced defender Isaac Isinde.
The coach Abbey Bogere however says they acknowledge how herculean today’s task will be but they are aiming for a victory against the table leaders.
“It’s not going to be an easy game because we are playing table leaders who arr arguably among the best teams in the country, we know they are eyeing the trophy but we also want to finish in the top five so it won’t be an easy game, My boys will play their best to ensure they bag the three points.
It’s unfortunate that one of my best defenders Isaac Isinde will not play due to suspension over accumulated yellow cards but I have tried my best to find a suitable replacement.
KCCA FC is currently top of the league table with 49 points while Kirinya Jinja sss is eighth with 33 points.
In the other games today, defending champions and second placed Vipers have been boosted by the return of three key players. Captain Tadeo Lwanga, defender Halid Lwaliwa and midfielder Moses Waiswa are all back from national team duty as they take on 12th placed Maroons FC in a game to be broadcasted live on Sanyuka TV.
In Arua, seventh placed Onduparaka host relegation threatened Sports Club Villa the Green light stadium.
