Proline returns to the top of the Rwenzori group after an easy win over Kireka United in Startimes FUFA big league

By Ritah Tugumisirize

It was a boring first half at the Startimes Stadium in Lugogo as Proline FC hosted Kireka United on Friday, 22nd February in the FUFA Big league.

Both sides gave nothing to write home about in the first Stanza as it stayed goalless at the interval.

Whatever half time talk Shafiq Bisaso gave his players worked as they immediately got off the blocks in the second half.

Ibrahim Bonyo and Bright Anukani teamed up for a brilliant interplay, connecting well with Ismail Kabugu who slotted home an easy tap in.

Minutes later, the home side forced an own goal through Deogratious Otieno whose attempted clearance of a long ball ended up in his own net in the 87th minute.

Kireka’s hope for a comeback was totally buried when substitute Hakim Kiwanuka beat the entire visiting backline to the ball to tap passed their shot stopper Mubiru Patrick and seal the victory for the home side.

The coach, Shafic Bisaso said after the game that they came assured of the win.

“We Knew we would win. We were playing against a disorganized side that plays from their half. They just defend and we knew we would eventually get them”

Proline is now top of the Rwenzori group with 29 points while Kireka United is eighth with 13 points.
