Kabaka shuffles cabinet, drops Makubuya to advisor role

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II on Friday, February 22, named a new cabinet making a few changes in the top of officials.

In the reshuffle, Apollo Makubuya who has been third deputy Katikkiro and minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs has now been named senior advisor.

David Mpanga, a prominent lawyer was moved from the position of Attorney General and given the docket of minister for Special Assignments.

Charles Peter Mayiga remained as the Kingdom Prime Minister (Katikkiro).

In other changes, the Kabaka dropped Ambassador Emmanuel Sendawula from First Deputy Katikkiro replacing him with Hajj Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase. Kaawaase is also minister in charge of Administration and ICT/Innovation.

Kaawaase was second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education.

Speaker Nelson Kawalya has also been dropped and replaced by Patrick Mugumbule.

Mugumbule will be deputized by Nelson Lwasa who retains his position as Deputy Speaker.
