Richard Kabagambe, 57, a resident of Mukabira village Nyabweya sub-county in Bunyangabo district is nursing deep wounds in Kilembe Mines Hospital after his son Richard Musekura, 28, cut off his hands because of a land wrangle.

Apparently, Musekura, who is on a run, was angry that his father had refused to give him a second share of land after he married another wife.

It is said that when Musekura was given his first share of land, he sold it and spent the money on drugs like Marijuana, alcohol among others, leaving him homeless.

Felix Twesigye the elder son of Kabagambe narrated that his father may never be bale to do any physical work given the manner in which his hands were chopped.

He said his brother Musekura is an arrogant and renown drunkard and had severally been threatening to murder his father.

Dr. Onismus Kibaya of Kilembe hospital said there were minimal chances that Kabagambe will be able to use his hands again.

He said this was not the first case of its kind, saying they receive on average 6-8 patients of this kind every month.

He called upon everybody especially the young to emulate the biblical teachings and respect their parents in order to book a place in heaven. By press time the matter had not yet been reported to police.
