Express FC part ways with Coach Kefa Kisala; George Ssemwogerere appointed

Wankulukuku based  Express Football Club have parted ways with their head coach Kefa Kisala, the Nile Post has learnt.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening, the Red Eagles said the decision to sack the tactician and his entire backroom staff was part of their long term strategy to rebuild the club.

“The head coach Kefa Kisala and the entire technical team of Express FC have departed the club as of today after mutual agreement with the team’s board of directors,” read in part a statement by the club chairman, Kiryowa Kiwanuka.

The club chairman applauded Kisala and his staff for steering the club to where it is but noted that they could no longer stay together.

Kisala’s sacking comes on the backdrop of a spell of dismal results for the team having lost their latest two games including the previous one against Police FC at home on Monday.

Express are 10th on the 16 team log with 21 points having won only 5 games out of the 17 they have so far played.

Meanwhile, the Red Eagles have appointed former player George Ssemwogerere as the club’s new head coach.

In the statement, the club chairman also announced James Magala as the Express FC  assistant coach whereas former player Hassan Mubiru will act as a players’ trainer.
