Benedicto Kiwanuka's son lashes at Prince Wasajja for telling "lies"

Maurice Kaigimu Kiwanuka, a son to former DP President, Benedicto Kiwanuka has taken a swipe at Prince David Wasajja Kintu for telling the commission of inquiry into land matters that their family stole Ssekabaka Muteesa II's land.

The contested 600 acre piece of land is located in Mutungo and houses the ministry of Defence headquarters, CMI among other institutions.

Kiwanuka told the Catherine Bamugemereire led commission that his father Kiwanuka bought the said land from Mutesa’s sister Victoria Mpologoma

Last week, Prince Wasajja  told the commission that Kiwanuka had grabbed 600 acres of land that belonged to his father, former president and Kabaka Edward Muteesa II.

He claimed that the plot to grab the land was htached when Muteesa had fled to exile in Britain.

But Kagimu refuted the allegations today.

“Prince Wasajja came here and told this commission that my father stole land. This is reckless and the prince should not be saying such things. My father was known to be a man of integrity and was killed by Idi Amin for that.  There is no way you can say such things about him," Kagimu said.

Kagimu said Kiwanuka bought the land in 1968 from Sir Edward Muteesa’s sister Victoria Mpologoma at Shs 90,000  and the money was sent to Mutesa in London

He added: “The prince is misusing his tittle by going around saying reckless things about my father and he should withdraw these statements."
