Ugandans to buy dream products, trips at 90% discount as online auction house launches

Starting February 1st, an auction house dubbed Q-ball will launch to allow Ugandans an opportunity to purchase variety of products as well as get all expense paid trips at a staggering 90% discount.

According to the auction house terms and conditions, a person will register as Q-ball user before placing a bid on a product of their choice. The person with the highest bid on a specific price will walk home with the product.

“Purchases via Q-ball will be running for a week from Friday 6pm – Thursday Midnight. Between 8am-5pm on Friday, the winners shall be announced across all platforms and they shall be able to pick their products and new products for the bid shall be announced the following day,” reads a statement from the Auction house.

“Items shall start at 90% off their usual cost price and each bid shall cost 1,000/= either via Mobile money or VISA payment for example if a Samsung 55” TV  goes for Shs2,000,000, then the Auction House shall have the initial bid price of  the TV at Shs200,000,” the statement continues.

Bidders send out bids worth Shs1,000 for items or services.

Accordingly, each bid for product of service placed shall cost Shs1000 and can be tracked through *252#  then Option 7 that is Q Ball, and every user with the highest bid takes the product at a price extremely lower than the market value.

“So if you place 50 bids and you're the winner at the close of the bidding process, then you'll be able to purchase it at it's initial Shs200,000 and 50bids which bring it to Shs 250,000,”the auction house notes.

“This shall be done via mobile money. So you purchase the same brand new  iPhone X at 250k instead of it's Shs2m market price. Bidders will also get a Shs100 cash back of airtime for each bid they place so not all is lost.”
