Over 40 police officers suspended as 34 detectives are transferred

The Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola has ordered for suspension of 49 police officer for skipping training.

In a message by AIGP Moses Balimwoyo, the Police director in charge of human resource development to several Divisional and Regional Police Commanders, the said police officers are suspended and are not eligible for deployment.

“You are directed not to deploy the following personnel having refused to proceed with TOT course at the Police Training School, Kabalye,” reads in part the message by AIGP Balimwoyo.

Detectives transferred

In another related development, the police chief has transferred a total of 34 detectives from various areas to the other.

In a message by AIGP Moses Balimwoyo to various Divisional and District Police Commanders, the detectives have been given new assignments whereas some of them have been reverted from the Criminal Investigations Division.

Among those reverted is Detective Assistant Inspector of Police Aggrey Mpamizo who has been reverted to General Duties and sent to Mbarara.

The changes take immediate effect.

Since his appointment as Inspector General of Police in March 2018, Ochola has made a number of transfers that many believe are meant to ensure provision of better services to the people by the police force.

He has also reversed a number of changes that had earlier been made by his predecessor, Gen.Kale Kayihura.
