Express FC unveil Brian Umony, four other new signings

Six time Uganda Premier League champions Express Football Club have unveiled five players including the 2007/08 Uganda Premier League’s most valuable player Brian Umony.

The five players unveiled at Wankulukuku stadium, the home of the Red Eagles on Friday morning at a colorful function included Umony,Frank Tumwesigye, Sadiq Ssekyembe, Goffin Oyiriwoth, Ivan Ocholit

Speaking at the function Express FC coach Kefa Kisala was optimistic the new signings will help lift the team from some of the problems it is still battling with.

“We have looked at areas where we needed to improve and balanced both experience and new blood,”Kisala noted.

Brian Umony

The former Most Valuable Player in the league has played for KCCA FC, St.George(Ethiopia), Azam FC(Tanzania) and Indian side Fulakam FC but was out of action for over two years due to an injury that has since healed.

He has in the past trained with Lugogo based Kasasiro boys in a bid to gain his previous form and it is expected he is eying a place in coach  Sebastien Desabre’s squad for the Afcon finals later this year where the Cranes will take part.

Frank Zaga Tumwesigye(Vipers)

Express are currently in seventh position on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with 21 points from the 15 games played as at the end of the first round.
