Congolese national confesses to killing girlfriend, colleague

A suspect who was recently arrested on suspicion of murdering two Congolese girls at old Kampala, has confessed to orchestrating the crime, police have said.

Following the murder of Hulda Njiba and her friend only identified as Safi last week, Aviation Police at Entebbe airport arrested Malimali Ndihoma Sisco Mashal Justine, a Congolese nationaland a girlfriend to one of the girls as he tried to flee the country.

However, according to Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, on interrogation, the suspect confessed to killing the two girls.

“Upon arrest, he was forwarded to Old Kampala police on suspicion that he might have killed the two girls whose bodies were found decomposing in an apartment at Kakeeka zone in Rubaga division on January 6, 2019,”Owoyesigyire said.

“Malimali confessed to the murder though he claimed it was a kidnap.”

The Police mouthpiece explained that investigations found out that Malimali was in a love relationship with Njiba before the latter got another boyfriend and it is suspected she was killed due to revenge by her boyfriend for having been betrayed.

On Sunday evening, the deceased’s decomposing bodies were recovered from a rental house in Mengo by residents who were alerted by a nasty smell from the house.

The two girls had earlier been reported missing from Entebbe and police had started an operation to look for them.

On breaking into Malimali’s house in Mengo following the heavy stench, police discovered the two discomposing bodies.

Police opened up a file vide CRB 030/2019 and the suspect is currently detained at Old Kampala police station as more investigations to establish the real motive are ongoing.
