Mike Mutebi’s high flying KCCA FC visit URA FC

RITAH TUGUMISIRIZE

KCCA FC could be coming off a win in their last game against Police FC but face a daunting task today when they take on URA FC at the Mandela National stadium as the first round of the star times Uganda Premier league climaxes.

URA has the tools to face the on form KCCA FC that has scored 33 goals while the hosts have conceded only four goals, thanks to their strong backline.

This means the yellow lads will have to put more effort if they are to pick maximum points against the seemingly stubborn tax collectors who are one of the only two unbeaten teams in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

The last time both teams faced off, KCCA FC humiliated URA FC 7-2, forcing their then coach Paul Nkata to throw in the towel.

KCCA FC carries the motivation from the 6-3 mauling of their tenants Police FC in their last game to Namboole as their manager Mike Mutebi faces his former assistant Sam Ssimbwa.

Mutebi and his troops are aware that the four time champions will be a harder paper than the cops.

URA who drew one all with Kirinya Jinja SS in their last league game have conceded the least goals in the league, (Four).

In the near aftermath of their draw in jinja, the outspoken Ssimbwa attacked the referees for what he described as broad day robbery in the Eastern city.

While speaking to the press, Mike Mutebi said his players were made confident by the manner in which they brushed aside the last opponents and he believes this will help them humble the taxmen.

“My players are happy and will bring the confidence to Namboole. We shall maintain our style of play as we look to collect maximum points,” Mutebi said.

Sadam Juma and Nicholas Kasozi remain sidelined while the on form Mike Mutyaba, Muzamir Mutyaba, Julius Poloto just like Allan Okello among other players will be a scare to a seemingly tough URA backline.

For the home side that seemed blunt in most of their past games scoring only 11 goals in 14 games, the seemingly rejuvenated forward Sempa Charles, together midfielders Said Kyeyune and Shafiq Kagimu have the potential to cause serious damage.

In the others games tomorrow, the unbeaten Vipers SC will host third placed Onduparaka in the televised match on Sanyuka TV, Sports Club Villa Visits Police FC at the Startimes stadium stadium in Lugogo.

Charles Ayiekho will lead his jinja SS students to Kakyeeka stadium to face Mbarara City; Nyamityobora will be away to Bul FC at the Njeru Technical centre, while Bright Stars visit Tooro united.
