Dr Atwine disclosed all this at the ministry of Health head quarters in Kampala while awarding medical school scholarships to over 720 students to attend various nursing schools countrywide.

Atwine said there has been a big health service delivery gap in remote areas and they looking at how best this becomes history and people can access service better quality health service in all parts of the country.

She promised all that who have been enrolled will be given jobs in their respective districts but emphasised they should be disciplined and desist from gossip.

"You find them on WhatsApp and Facebook when patients have no one to attend to them," said.

Atwine said they have mostly considered students from remote areas since most health workers don’t want to be posted to these areas.

"Most of the remote areas were left behind health wise but since we are from village we understand the life our fellows live in and we are ready after school to serve our communities," one the nursing students said.
