Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club maintained their lead at the top of the table when they beat BUL, 2-1 at the Njeru Technical Centre in Jinja on Saturday.
Goals by Muzamiru Mutyaba and veteran midfielder Mike Mutyaba were enough for the Kasasiro boys who have won the Ugandan league 12 times to maintain grip on this year’s title in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The FUFA player of the year for 2017 slotted home the opener for Kasasiro boys only 15 minutes into the game before his namesake Mike Mutyaba doubled the lead on 29 minutes with a screamer from 20 yards that went straight into the net for KCCA to take the lead into half time and consequently to the finals whistle.
The home side however responded through a Jean Kambale 73rdhit saw them get a consolation but it was not enough to cause impact as the Lugogo side returned to Kampala with three points in their bag.
Vipers Falter at home
At Kitende, home side Vipers Sports Club fell short of the call when they failed to try to give a chance to table leaders KCCA FC when they were held to a nil all draw with Tooro United in a dull game on Saturday evening.
The goalless draw meant that KCCA FC are now five points clear of second placed Vipers, despite the latter being two games short.
Following the dismal display at their own home on Saturday, Vipers SC relieved their Mexican head coach Javier Martinez Espinoza of his duties.
