Police have
retrieved a decomposing body of a female person from bushes at Clock Tower, the
Nile Post has learnt.
According to
Kampala Metropolitan Area Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, the body had
been dumped in bushes at Base zone, Clock Tower near the railway line before it
was retrieved.
“We visited
the scene and the body was identified to be of one Sylvia, a Karimojong woman
and is suspected to have been raped and strangled,”Owoyesigyire said.
“The body
was taken for postmortem at City Mortuary Mulago but no arrests have so far
been made.Inquiries into the crime continue.”
The area
around Clock Tower and the stretch that leads to Nsambya traffic lights is a
dangerous one especially at night and wee hours of the morning.
Various
criminals including the deadly Kifeesi operate freely in the area as they
snatch items including phones from people especially pedestrians and many have
fallen prey to them.
Most of the criminals who operate in the area come from nearby slums including Nsambya and Katwe.
Meanwhile, the body of a special hire driver who was abducted from Fort Portal on Christmas Eve was recovered with eyes plucked out.
The body was recovered in Bunyangabu in Kabarole district, days after being reported missing and his phones had been switched off.
