Owere was in the company of the suspects on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. The four friends allegedly spent the day drinking at a shop in Miro one trading center in Petta sub county. They drunk and enjoyed the day late into the night.

However, Owere was found dead in a bush on Boxing Day morning. He had spear wounds to the neck. Owere’s death was confirmed by the local council one chairman of the village Alfred Othieno. A post mortem was carried out at Tororo main hospital.

Richard Ochara, a relative to the deceased, believes Owere might have been killed because of a love triangle he may have been involved in.

The district police commander John Rutaagira confirmed the killing of Owere and arrest of three suspects.
