I feel bad for Bobi Wine - Bebe Cool
Singer Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool has said he sympathises with colleague, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine whose concert in Busabala has been cancelled.
Bebe Cool who himself has police deployment to secure his show in Kiwatule, now says he feels bad for Bobi Wine but only blames his organisers for failure to fulfil requirements.
“I
feel bad for Bobi Wine, but it is his organisers that did bad to advertise the
concert before getting clearance from Authorities. I am a friend to President
Museveni but I went through all procedures,” Bebe Cool said.
Bebe
Cool claims he was cleared last month by the police after fulfilling all
requirements asked.
“I
was cleared by Police about a month ago. I took all letters that I was asked
for including the one from KCCA and a receipt that showed that I had an ambulance
that would be at the venue,” Bebe Cool added.
However,
Bebe Cool insists his support for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has
nothing to do with the clearance of his show.
“Kiwatule has nothing to do with whether I support NRM or not, I
am past that issue. I am an artiste and I follow what police tells me. If
police tells me not to do so, I abide with the rules,” Bebe Cool claims.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Police Force has deployed heavily at
musician and legislator Robert Kyagulanyi’s (aka Bobi Wine) One Love Beach,
Busabala along Entebbe road.
Bobi
Wine had planned to hold a Boxing Day concert at his One Love Beach but police
has said the music show will not take place. Speaking earlier, Police
spokesperson Emilian Kayima said the show’s organisers had not sought
permission from the authorities to hold the show.
Bobi Wine has insisted that the music show will go ahead.
However, police has deployed heavily at the scene. They have also teargassed
several early revellers who tried to gain entry to One Love Beach. Police is
using the infamous pink coloured teargas last used on former Forum for
Democratic Party president Dr Kizza Besigye.
Police
also fired live bullets to disperse crowds that had started to gather at One
Love Beach.
“Police
continues to expose itself as criminal and unjust,” Bobi Wine said.
