Ochola transfers several police commanders in new changes
Several police commanders have been transferred and replaced by others in the recent changes made by the Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola.
The new
changes have seen Superintendent of Police, Latif Zaake who has been the
Regional Police Commander for Greater Masaka region transferred to Wamala
region.
Greater
Masaka covers Kalungu, Ssembabule, Masaka,
Bukomansimbi, Lwengo and Kyotera district whereas Wamala region covers the districts
of Mubende, Mityana, Kiboga and
Kyankwanzi districts.
Zaake is credited for having helped deal
with panga wielding thugs who terrorized the greater Masaka area a few years
ago.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ebock
Abaine who has been the Chief Security Officer for Makerere University has now
been sent to greater Masaka region as Regional Police Commander whereas ACP
Moses Muluya has been appointed as the Commandant for Railway Police to replace
ACP Emmanuel Muheirwe who was appointed the acting Commissioner of Police Human
Resource Management.
ACP Philip Acaye who has been the
Regional Police Commander for Wamala Region has been sent to Makerere
University as Chief Security Officer.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Christopher
Baruhagare has been appointed the Regional Police Commander for the West Nile
region whereas ACP Akabu Otika who has just returned from Somalia under the
AMISOM has been deployed in the Directorate of Peace and Support Operations.
SSP Anatoli Katungwesi has been
appointed RPC for Busoga East region to replace SSP Ibrahim Saiga who went to
Somalia under the AMISOM.
SP Rogers Kapere has been appointed as
Mayuge DPC whereas ASP Sulait Kitaka has been transferred from Manafa to
Nakaseke as DPC.
The new changes according to police are
meant to improve service delivery and also fill existing gaps .
