Rugunda vanishes, fails to explain ban on Bobi Wine concerts

Featured

The Prime Minister, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda on Wednesday failed to appear before Parliament to explain why government had banned  Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine from performing at live music concerts.

However in a surprise move, even the minister of Internal Affairs, Jeje Odong who was delegated to read the government statement disappeared in thin air after attending Parliament for a few hours.

During plenary on December 18, the Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga summoned Rugunda to appear before the House the next day and explain why government continues to block Bobi Wine from performing at live concerts across the country.

Rugunda was a no show to the chagrin of Kyagulanyi and other MPs.

"Where is he? Why is he dodging us?" some of the MPs queried.

Later Parliament was told that Odong would deliver the statement on behalf of Rugunda. But even Odong, who was in the House, disappeared mysteriously.

Kyagulanyi used the platform to attack the Security Minister Gen. Elly Tumwine who on Tuesday described the ban as part of the occupational hazards.
