Lukwago, Musisi court case pushed to 2019

The case in which the Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago is contesting the amount of Money that was awarded to Kampala Executive Director Jennifer Musisi’s lawyers has failed to kick off.

The case that was scheduled for hearing yesterday was rescheduled for March 6th 2019, since the judge handling it at the execution court, Justice Duncan Gaswaga is on leave.

In 2011 the lord mayor Erias Lukwago petitioned court seeking interpretation of the KCCA Act. Lukwago was contesting the Executive director Jennifer Musisi’s alleged usurping of his powers.

Lukwago says a decision was taken in his absence and court instructed the two warring parties to sort out their issues at city hall, although the same court awarded Jennifer Musisi’s lawyers sh47.5 million in costs which Lukwago contests.

The case was up for hearing in the Execution Division of the High court presided over by Justice Duncan Gaswaga but failed after years.

Lukwago also contests the hearing of this case in his absence, which he terms as unfair.

On Wednesday, pictures circulated on Social Media platforms showing Jennifer Musisi shaking hands with Lukwago after years of disputes at city Hall.

Musisi is set to leave office on 15th this month after her resignation was approved by the appointing authority.
