Museveni is insecure, says Muntu

The former FDC president Gen Mugisha Muntu has said that President Museveni has resorted to micro managing the country because he is politically insecure.

Speaking to The Nile Post, Muntu said Museveni has rendered several institutions powerless thus stunting the productive initiatives by those in-charge of making decisions.

"Those in charge now fear to make decisions leaving everything to one man," he said.

Muntu noted the president is now frustrated by the institutions he put in place, the reason he has started micro managing everything.

He said when he was the army commander, it was different because he was directly in charge of building structures.

But this kind of power in the army ended in  2001 when Museveni was directly challenged politically, by Dr Kizza Besigye, something that threatened his seat as a president.

Muntu said: "We always had space to operate, unlike now because the president doesn’t want to lose control of this nation."

He went ahead to explain that if the commander in chief continues like this, things could fall apart.
