VIDEO: Pastor Bugembe, Bobi Wine casually differ on politics but pray for country together

A congregation that gathered for the end of year prayers at Worship House Nansana last Friday, petitioned God to have mercy on Uganda in the face of recent tragedies.

PastorWilson Bugembe, who heads the church called upon the congregation to cast out all demons that carry bad and tragic news.

“Whoever is here, please pray that 2019 is better, that we have no tragic news as we have had this year. We are tired of hearing things like so and so has been shot, others have drowned. 2019 should be a smooth and good news year,” he urged.

Meanwhile in the congregation was fellow singer and Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, who when invited to the lectern also urged the congregation to pray for the nation.

“Please pray for me and pray for this nation too, because we are all in going through the same situations. Our country needs prayers,” he said.

However, the two singers casually disagreed on politics while on stage, with Pastor Bugembe  jokingly asking Bobi Wine to keep off any Museveni talk.

“I thank God for you Bobi Wine. You know I am for President Museveni, but politics aside, I thank God that you are alive today,” Bugembe said before handing the microphone to Bobi Wine and with request not to talk about Museveni.

“I want to promise I will not talk about your Museveni, but I am for people power. I have no problem with your Museveni, in fact, I like him and respect him but I belong to people power,” Bobi Wine started.

Bugembe would later question Bobi Wine to mention anything good that Museveni has so far done, but the latter turned down the offer by sticking to the earlier promise; “I promised I will not talk about Museveni.”

Bobi Wine would then be requested to sing a non political song for the congregation, he started singing his new hit; Tuliyambale engule but was stopped and asked to pick another.

The singer then started a song with which he sang with Pastor Bugembe, sending the congregation into deep praise.

Worship House Nansana, unlike other churches, hold their end of year prayers every last Friday in the month of November.
