Patrick Kanyomozi is new USPA President

KFM’s Patrick Kanyomozi will be the Uganda Sports Press Association's (USPA) president for the next two years after winning the organization’s election on Saturday 24th November held at the Cooper Chimney Restaurant.

The former USPA general secretary defeated Nation Media’s Sam Mpoza and former Association vice president Ritah Aliguma with 64 votes to secure the top position.

116 votes were cast with Kanyomozi taking a lion’s share of 64 votes, 36 for Ritah and 16 for Sam Mpoza.

In a statement, Patrick thanked USPA members for their support and pledged team work.

“Thank you very much members for the trust you have put in me, the election is done, let’s all come back from the camps we have been in and unite, am willing and ready to work with anyone,” said

Defeated Ritah Aliguma congratulated Patrick on his victory.

“I congratulate Patrick Kanyomozi who has been voted in as the Uganda Sports Press Association President, let me hope he will put the house to order, said Ritah Aliguma

Mubarak Kasule also scooped the treasurer position with 95 votes, defeating super FM’s Agnes Katende who got 22 votes.

Johnson Were and Francisco Bwambale passed un opposed as the Associations general secretary and organizing secretary respectively.

Patrick Kanyomozi has replaced Sabiti Muwanga who has been at the helm of USPA since 2014.
