Express FC signs 400m sponsorship deal with Betway

Barely four months in Office, the Express football club  chairman  is already giving the club  a new face. With equity Bank, Buganda Land Board, Uganda Breweries Limited on the list of partners, the chairman together with his executive unveiled yet another sponsor on Tuesday 6th November.

International Betting company, Betway  has today been unveiled as the new Express FC shirt sponsors for the 2018/19 season at  Katonga hall, Hotel Africana.

The deal will see the online book makers give the Wankuluku based club 400m per season over the next three years.

For Betway Country Manager Adella Agaba on behalf of Betway, this partnership is to continue supporting Local football, with a drive to make the oldest club Express FC great again.

“The red eagles are six time top flight champions have won the Uganda cup 10 times and capable of much more. We noticed the decline last season as there was a relegation scare for the team that is loved by many, for a club that was always in the top 4, this was a revelation, thus the pledge to make Express FC great again. Betway will be sponsoring Express FC to the tune of UGX 400,000,000,” said Adellah Agaba.

On top of the UGX 400,000,000, the betting company has also provided match day, travelling and training kits, promised to improve the players welfare and renovate the  Mutesa11 Wankuluku Stadium. They also acquired naming rights of the Stadium which will now be named the Betway Mutesa 11 Wankuluku stadium, starting Wednesday 7th November 2018.

The Club chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka who is now credited for fetching sponsorships including equity bank that partnered with the club earlier expresses gratitude to the sponsors, and promised to work together with the fans to ensure discipline to keep the patners as they develop Ugandan football.

“Thank you Betway and welcome to the Express FC family, your continued support will look forward to shared Express FC glory, I pledge total support from us, as the leadership and the entire fanbase of Express football club to ensure the success of the partnership as we continue to develop the football game,” said the Express FC chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka.

The betting company also  sponsors other clubs in different sports disciplines that include Betway Power Basketball Club, Betway senior pool league and Betway Kobs(RUGBY) among others.
