Vipers pips Nyamityobora as SC Villa falters

Defending champions Vipers maintained a perfect start in their quest to retain the StarTimes Uganda Premier League when they beat Nyamityobora by a goal to nil.

An 11th minute Mzee Daniel Sserunkuuma shot was enough for the Venoms to silence Nyamityobora at the St.Mary’s stadium, Kitende on Saturday afternoon.

The win ensured Vipers maintained a perfect start to the league but at the same time continued to spell doom for Nyamityobora who are yet to win a point.

SC Villa falters

At the Champions Stadium in Mwereerwe,home side Bright Stars maintained their unbeaten run when they held record champions SC Villa to a nil all draw.

The draw saw SC Villa fail to win in three successive games and are currently languishing in the 13th position.

At Kavumba, Prison side Maroons FC were beaten two goals nil by hosts Mbarara city in another StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter.

Goals from Ibrahim Oriti and Makweth Awol in either half of the game ensured Mbarara City won their second successive game of the season.

Vipers are now on top of the log with maximum nine points whereas Bright Stars, KCCA and URA are on level with seven points after three games.

Maroons, Police and Nyamityobora are languishing at the bottom of the table without a point.
