KCCA FC see off Caterpillars to go top in Uganda Premier League

Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club on Friday beat Onduparaka FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in Arua.

Goals by shining start Allan Okello and Timothy Awany in either half of the game ensured the Kasasiro boys went past the resilient Caterpillars in a game played at the Green Light stadium in Arua.

The visitors broke the deadlock only six minutes after kickoff when Okello capitalized on a Mustafa Kiiza free kick to head home the ball for KCCA’s opener.

Earlier, former KCCA captain Denis Okot who was facing his former pay masters for the first time since his acrimonious departure had brought down Patrick Kaddu for the free kick.

Meanwhile, in the 64th minute, skipper Timothy Awany took the game beyond reach with a beautiful header off a corner to ensure KCCA earned their first win in three seasons in Arua.

Previously, the 12 times champions had collected only one point out of the possible six in encounters against Onduparaka FC in Arua.

URA edge Ndejje

Meanwhile, at Namboole, tax collectors Uganda Revenue Authority FC beat new league entrants Ndejje University Lions by a goal to nil in at StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at Namboole on Friday afternoon.

Peter Lwasa’s header settled the scores between the two teams in the 56th minute off a Ronald Kigongo assist.

The Friday results saw KCCA FC move top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table on seven points whereas URA are second with the same number of points with the Kasasiro boys.
