Uganda Cranes Keeper Odongkara switches to Adama City in Ethiopia
Uganda Cranes shot stopper Robert Odongkara has made a bold move away from St. George to join Adama City in Ethiopia.
The 29 year old who has been at St. George for seven years was lured into signing a two year deal with his new club, by the improved terms tabled, he disclosed.
His departure sparked off a rift from St. George's fans who questioned management's decision to let their number one go.
For five of the seven years he played for the Addis Ababa based side, Ondongkara was voted best goal keeper in the top tier on five occasions.
The new improved contract has a clause that allows him to leave after five months if he gets a better deal.
In the 2016/17 season, he played and integral part as the club won their fourth consecutive league title and a record fourteenth in the top flight league.
Odongkara's new home Adama city finished 5th with 44 points behind Makelle City in the 2017/18 season of the Ethiopian Premier league.
He will be replaced by Ghanaian Muntari Tagoe who crossed from Medeama SC on a one year deal, having guided them to the Ghana FA cup in 2013 and 2015.
