Melania Trump Says She's One of Most Bullied People in the World

First Lady Melania Trump described herself as “the most bullied person in the world” before toning down her statement to say she was one of the most bullied.

"I could say I'm the most bullied person on the world," Trump told ABC News during an interview recorded last week during her trip to Africa when asked why she has taken on cyberbullying as an issue.

The interview aired Thursday morning.

"You're really the most bullied person in the world?" an ABC reporter asked in response.

"One of them, if you really see what people saying about me," Trump said.

Melania Trump first committed to combating cyberbullying during her husband’s presidential campaign in 2016. Critics have called her online anti-bullying campaign hypocritical, pointing to the comments her husband has made on Twitter denigrating people’s intelligence, talent, and looks.

The U.S. first lady also said nearly two years into the current administration, there are still people working in the White House whom she does not trust.

“Well some people, they don’t work there anymore,” she told ABC.

The comments follow a controversial anonymous op-ed published in the New York Times last month by a “senior administration official” who described a covert resistance in the White House against the president’s impulses.
