Omukebete crowned winner of The Comic

Up and coming comedian, Omukebete was crowned the winner of NBS TV's comedy talent search dubbed "The Comic" on Sunday.

Four comedians made it to the finals, screened live from Silver Springs Hotel, Bugolobi, after a six month countrywide auditions.

The comedian, known for his hilarious skits, beat three other contestants, including Maggie The Bwaiserian, Smart Ayokyayokya and Uncle Mark, to win Shs 3 million and a car - Pajero GDI.

The first runner-up, Uncle Mark, won Shs 2 million while each of the three semifinalist took home Shs 750,000.

The grand finale was hosted by Patrick Salvador, a renowned comedian.

Over 1,000 contestants registered for the first-ever NBS Comic Show in May.

An excited Omukebete was handed over a dummy cheque of Shs 3 million by Joe Kigozi, the Chief Strategy Officer of Next Media.
