KCCA FC V Kirinya Jinja SS Preview: StarTimes Uganda Premier League - Match Day II

Twelve-time Champions, KCCA FC take on Kirinya Jinja SS at the StarTimes Stadium on match day II of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

  • KCCA FC Take on Kirinya Jinja SS for the fifth time in the league
  • Kirinya Jinja SS have only picked up one point in their last four meetings
  • KCCA won their opening game while Kirinya Jinja SS could only manage a draw at home to Villa
  • Watch the match Live on Sanyuka TV-StarTimes

KCCA FC sparked their quest for the thirteenth with an opening 2-1 win over Tooro United (Previously Soana FC).

The StarTimes Stadium has been a fortress for the Kassasiro Boys for years (save for last season’s embarrassment at the hands of Vipers) but according to Mike Mutebi, this will have to be another hard result if they are to get all three.

“it will not be an easy match… They are a good side that wants to play attacking football and have a tactically good coach”. Said Mike during a pre-match presser at Lugogo.

The Lugogo based side will be without key player, Julius Poloto, who was stretchered off on match day 1 with a thigh injury in their 2-1 win.

  • The match will be televised live on Sanyuka TV CH 222 and 403 while Facebook subscribers will be able to stream the match online via the Sanyuka TV Facebook live stream

On the other side, Coach Charles Ayiekoh Lukula will be wary of the dying-minute syndrome that has denied him six successive points in his last two-games. However, he confirms it’s something they have worked on and his players understand - they will have to be careful till the final minute of the game.

Recently, they drew 2-2 at home to SC Villa after scoring first and that could be one of their biggest flaws going into today’s game.

The School Boys have not had an easy feat at the StarTimes Stadium since promotion into the top flight losing 5-1 in their first season followed by a 2-1 in the next. Altogether, KCCA FC have won three of the previous encounters while the Jinja based side have managed just a point in the four.
