Musa Galiwango, a key suspect in the machete (bijambiya) attacks in greater Masaka region last year has been sentenced to two years in jail for escaping from Masaka prison last year.
Galiwango’s sentence was delivered by Judge Deogratius Ssejemba in Masaka Magistrates Court.
Galiwango, who was shot and captured by police in April 2018, did not seem bothered by the sentence. He smiled occasionally and raised his handcuffed hands in the air as Uganda Prisons warders led him to the prisons bus.
The once feared criminal is also facing four murder charges and aggravated robbery.
