Following a dough first half, the Purple Sharks only needed eight minutes to take the lead.

Midfielder Sharif Ziraba struck a rebound effort from 16 yards the partisan sizable crowd into a frenzy.

This was Wakiso Giants’ third win in seven outings under the tutelage of coach Ibrahim Kirya but a second triumph against a Uganda Premier League side.

“It was a good game against a very good ball playing team,” Kirya said shortly after the match.

Fans turned up in big numbers

“The most important thing is that we kept a clean sheet for a second successive game. That's an improvement from the previous matches and we hope to build on that,” he added.

Kirya’s opposite Abdallah Mubiru opined otherwise, ruing missed goal scoring chances.

“We created a couple of chances especially in the first half but we weren't effective,” Mubiru said. “We took off peddle after the break with a couple of changes but overall, it was a very good game.”
