VIDEO: Bobi Wine fine, in 'uniquely' humorous mood- Deputy Speaker

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanya has visited Members of Parliament, Francis Zaake and Robert Kyagulanyi.

Following the scuffle in Arua last week in which the presidential convoy was allegedly stoned, over 30 people including MPs were arrested. Kyagulanyi and Zaake were however badly beaten by security forces during the arrest.

Kyagulanyi was later charged with unlawful possession of arms by the General Court Martial sitting in Gulu before being remanded to Makindye Military barracks.

On Wednesday, Oulanya visited the legislators to assess their current health condition.

Speaking to journalists, the Deputy Speaker of parliament said he was pleased with the current situation of the legislators.

"Kyagulanyi was uniquely in a humorous mood. We laughed together,"Oulanya said.

"Apart from the back pain, there is no other complication."

Medard Sseggona, who was among the team of legislators who were allowed to access Kyagulanyi early this week said despite the condition being better that he was last week, the Kyadondo East lawmaker's condition was still worrying.

“He is better than he was in Gulu but not okay. His condition still remains bad. He has a swollen face, one eye remains red and is still in deep pain,”Sseggona said on Monday.

According to the lawyer, Kyagulanyi complained to them that his left part of the body is dead and non- functional.

However, Oulanya told journalists Kyagulanyi was only complaining of pain in the back but nothing much.

On Zaake, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament said the Mityana legislator was in pain but said the situation was not worrying.

He said he had wounds on the fingers and was in pain.

"Both (Zaake and Kyagulanyi) dont have internal injuries or bleeding. Their injuries are external and got them due to the beating during the arrest,"Oulanya said.

He however warned that there is need to stop violence in elections which he said was responsible for the state that the two legislators are currently in.

"It is something that should not have happened."
