Two gunned down in down town Kampala

Two people have been shot dead at Juba Hotel, Arua park Mall in down town Kampala on Wednesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammed Adbullah, 30, and Ibrahim Bhakit who were residents in room one on the fourth floor of the hotel located down town Kampala.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire said that the deceased had been trailed by armed robbers, who on locating them, broke into their room and opened fire, making off with items in their possession including large sums of money.

“Mohammed was killed on spot while Bhakit was fatally injured and rushed to hospital where he was announced dead on arrival. However Police with the help of the community managed to apprehend three suspects, Gumisiriza Innocent, 32, a staff of Top Security offices Ntinda , Oribitunga Nelson, 28, and Murengyera Ronald a Burundian National,” Owoyesigire said.

“We were also able to recover a pistol which was having 7 rounds of ammunition with reg. No UG PSOT1102-06A011. The pistol was however identified to be belonging to Saracen and was attached to Oribitunga,” he added.

Police affirms that investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether it's an organised group or not and are yet to establish how much money of cash is missing. The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mulago Hospital for postmortem and suspects charged with aggravated robbery and murder on SD/02/15/08/18 Central Police station Kampala.
