Two shot as Bryan White's charity campaign turns violent in Arua

Tear gas canisters, Live bullets and stones rocked the air at the Arua Hill Boma grounds, Friday evening as what initially started as a charity drive to awaken youth from poverty ended in total ferocity.

The charity was part of the Bryan White Foundation's week long campaign in Arua Municipality where the foundation led by self made city tycoon, Brian Kirumira alias Bryan White intended to donate over Shs 7 Billion.

According to sources from Arua, the charity campaign was moving on smoothly before a section of the youth turned chaotic forcing their way to the foundation's crew tent demanding for an equitable share of the money that was meant to be donated by Bryan White.

" The event was okay and all was fine until some rowdy youth stormed the distribution point of the the Bryan White foundation demanding for money," a source in Arua told Nile Post.

When they failed to get the money having been stopped by the security detail, the group resorted to stoning Bryan White Foundation crew members which prompted the police to respond with tear gas and live bullets in the air.

It is alleged that at least two people were shot in the process with one of them surviving death by a whisker having sustained a bullet in the leg. Both victims were at the Arua Regional Referral Hospital by the press time.

Dozens of property was destroyed including the plastic chairs and tents. The "podium" chief, Brian White was whisked away with the help of police for security precautions.
