Entire Kampala, Wakiso areas to have water shut down on Saturday

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has warned customers to store enough water and use it sparingly in preparation for a water shut down in three service areas of Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso on Saturday.

“The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation regrets to inform its valued customers and the general public that there will be interruptions in water supply on Saturday 28th July, 2018 from 8am to 5pm,”read a notice by NWSC this week.

“This is to enable Umeme engineers undertake routine maintenance works at the Ggaba substation to improve power supply reliability at Gaba Water Works.”

According to the notice, the entire Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso service areas will be affected.

National Water and Sewerage Corporation recently embarked on construction of the country’s largest sewerage treatment plant with 95 percent of the civil and electro- mechanical complete.
