Buganda kingdom premier (Katikkiro), Charles Peter Mayiga has urged Baganda to embrace their culture and tradition as most of the people have adopted the western culture leading to erosion of their own cultures.

Mayiga made the call during the inspection of the general works at Kabaka’s palace grounds ahead of the 25th Buganda kingdom coronation anniversary scheduled to take place on 25th July-2018

Pleased with the works, he said only those who love their culture and tradition could come up with such good works.

Some of the works include building of the traditional fence and furnishing Kabaka’s palace ahead of the coronation.

He urged people to come in large numbers to light up Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s 25th coronation anniversary.

Kabaka Muwenda Ronald Mutebi was installed as king, at Buddo hill at the kingdom’s Naggalabi coronation site on July 31st 1993.

This followed the restoration of the cultural institutions which had been abolished by the then president Dr Milton Obote in 1966.

Mayiga said Kabaka Mutebi will be pleased with the various preparations made ahead of the coronation anniversary.
