Buganda Road Magistrates court sentenced a 25 year old student to  two years of imprisonment after pleading guilty of sexually harassing the Kabarole district woman MP Sylvia Rwabwogo (pictured above).

According to the legislator,Brian Isiko, a student at YMCA -Jinja branch started sending to her messages and calls expressing his undying love towards her.

“I love you so much and want to protect you. My love is for you alone and since there is no one taking care of you, I will do it,"read one of the messages to the MP.

According to the legislator, at first she never took it serious thinking it was from one of her constituents but got worried when the messages and calls from the stranger persisted.

Rwabwogo told court that the messages persisted ahead of the controversial Constitution Amendment Bill that was passed in December to remove presidential age limits which made her think that someone wanted to hurt her.

The MP said the last blow was the text from her secret admirer asserting that he had failed to sleep at night because he was only thinking about her prompting her to get worried because this was the time of kidnaps and murders all over the country .

"I took up the matter with police at parliament which assigned a guard and advised me to set up an appointment to meet the stalker,"Rwabwogo said.

The meeting was held on June 11th , 2018, at Java House, Lugogo and Isiko showed up from where he was arrested.

On Thursday afternoon, Isiko pleaded guilty to charges of cyber harassment and offensive communication before Buganda Road grade one Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu.

He confessed to the facts of the offence as were read to him in court stating that the calls and text messages professing passionate love to the MP he had even never physically met were from him.

He was consequently sentenced to two-years on the count of cyber harassment and nine-months for offensive communication but court ordered that the sentences should run concurrently.
