VIDEO: Court burdened with Conmen

High court Family Division in Makindye has today conducted an engagement for the Court users committee involving all stakeholders with a view of mapping out how best it can deliver family justice, get feedback and streamlining service delivery.

The engagement attracted justices, registrars, local council leaders, and court users among others.

During the engagement, it emerged that conmen loiter around the courts soliciting money with promise of quick service.

Godfrey Namundi the head of Family Division of the High Court Makindye also highlighted the need for space at court to accommodate staff.

This court currently has over 5000 cases with 2000 of them as old as two years due to lack of judges. In some cases, litigants have lost interest but archiving completed files has also been a problem to this court.

However, Namundi is optimistic that the judiciary administration will handle this matter expeditiously.
