Political leaders wish Muslims fruitful Eid

Political, social and religious leaders have wished the Muslim community in Uganda a fruitful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, congratulating them upon competing the month of Ramadhan.

Eid-el-Fitr was celebrated today, June 15.

Deborah Malac, the US ambassador to Uganda tweeted: “Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim friends and colleagues! May peace be upon you and your families as you celebrate the end of Ramadan”

Kizza Besigye, the leading opposition figure in the country wished Muslims in Uganda and around the world a joyful & fulfilled celebration.

"Eid Mubarak. Allahu Akbar," he wrote.

His counterpart, the former FDC leader, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu  wrote: "To our Muslim brothers and sisters across the country, as we come to the end of the holy month. May Allah's blessings and bountiful mercy Be upon you, your families and the entire nation Eid Mubarak."

Frank Tumwebaze, the minister for Information and Communication Technology, too, wished Muslims a happy celebration.

Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe the Vice Chancellor Makerere University congratulated the Muslims upon completion of the Holy month of Ramadhan.
