Makerere senior staff remanded for sexually harassing student
Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon charged before remanding Edward Kisuze, a faculty registrar at the college of Computing and Information Science at Makerere University for sexually harassing a student.
Kisuze was charged with attempted rape and indecent assault on Rachel Njoroge, a former student.

According to prosecution, the incident happened at Makerere University on April 13, 2018 when Njoroge showed up to certify her transcript and pick her recommendation letter before she was referred to room 507 for help.
Prosecution says that on being given her transcript and was looking through it, Kisuze allegedly locked the office door and molested Njoroge.
Kisuze was arrested last month after a photo of a person alleged to be himself was seen sexually molesting Njoroge who had come to the university to certify her transcript.
However, according to prosecution, although the photo does not show Kisuze’s face, information availed by his victim pinned him since he has been occupying the said office.
Buganda road chief magistrate James Eremye Mawanda Eremye however adjourned the case to May 10 in order for the state prosecutor Viola Tusingwire to respond to the bail application by Kisuze through his lawyers led by Kenneth Munungu.
Makerere university last month suspended Kisuze following a written complaint of sexual harassment from the student who claimed the faculty registrar at the college of Computing and Information Science forcefully harassed her sexually as she went to certify her transcript.
