Kofi Annan: "Africans should elect younger leaders"

The former UN secretary general Kofi Annan has said that the current poor state of Africa is as a result of keeping old people in power.

The peace keeping icon made this eye-popping remark at the just ended World Changers Summit which was held in Namibia, where he gave a key note address.

He asked: “Africa has great values to depend upon, Africa could be independent, but we have too many old men at the presidency, some are above 70yrs, and what do you expect them to do?”.

This view was made to inspire Africans to choose more younger and better men and women into power rather than old men.
