Three students of Uringi secondary school have died after a tipper truck they were travelling in got involved in a nasty accident along Nebbi ,Kei road in West Nile
The three; Akech Linda, a senior three (S3) student, Thojwiga Victory a senior five student(S5) and Manano Isaac a senior four (S4) student were confirmed in the accident that also saw scores injured with some still fighting for their lives in health facilities around the District.

Accordingly, the students were on their way to Nebbi town for a drama festival when the incident happened.
President Museveni has consequently directed the Chief of Defence Forces to airlift the critically injured to Mulago national referral hospital for further treatment.

While it may be odd to hear that students travel in a tipper truck, most government funded secondary schools in the West Nile region do not have school buses to transport students to and from different places.
During functions that require movement, students are usually transported in either lorries or pick up trucks that are readily available for hire.
A few schools have been able to procure buses following the intervention of the old students and parents.
