Ugandan boxer Juma Miiro clinches semi final spot in Commonwealth games
Uganda could secure another medal at the ongoing Gold Cost Commonwealth games in Australia after boxer Juma Miiro clinched a semi final spot.
Miiro beat Kenyan Shafi Hassan 3-2 (29-28, 27-29, 27-29, 29-28, 29-28) in the quarter finals 46- 49 category, to become the first Ugandan boxer to qualify to the semi finals in the On going Gold Coast Common wealth games in Australia.

The 22-year-old now faces Indonesia’s Amit Juma in the semi finals on Friday April 13. Accordingly, all semi finalists are guaranteed a medal in this case.

Meanwhile, two other boxers already punched their way to the Quarter finals and that is Ssimbwa Reagan in the 81kg category and the 2016 -2017 USPA Boxer of the year Musa Bwogi commonly known as Shadir Musa who will be fighting England’s Pat McCormack to book his ticket to the semi finals.
